Husam Osman

I have 23 years experience as a consultant virologist overseeing the development and delivery of virology services for the West Midlands Region. As such I have experience in delivering clinical, laboratory, public health and infection control services in addition to service development, training, teaching and research. I have been the clinical service lead and director of Birmingham PHL for the last 8 years and as such responsible for all  microbiology services delivered by our laboratory.  I am also responsible for the delivery of all the virological and public health aspects of the service working closely with colleagues in public health and epidemiology. I am an active member of Royal College of Pathologists responsible for virology training nationally and within the West Midlands Region. I am the general secretary of the UK Clinical Virology Network which oversees the delivery and organisation of UK virology services. MBBch MSc Virology PhD Virology FRCPath Virology.
